How can we dispute a parking ticket issued because we forgot to display our Blue Badge?

My wife has had a disabled blue parking badge for over nine years. We parked in a disabled space at a shopping centre yesterday, but neglected to display the blue badge - my wife and I are respectively 80 and 79. This is a once in a thousand times occasion that we have parked. We were both distressed to find a parking charge notice stuck on the windscreen and tried unsuccessfully to locate the parking attendant to show the blue badge.

I am attaching scans of the parking ticket and have noticed that there are blank spaces regarding charges imposed at 14 days and 28 days, although there are almost illegible numbers in the midst of other text. Can you advise us please on whether this makes the notice invalid? Please note that there are now new rules controlling the use of Blue Disabled Badges.

This is a private parking contractual penalty. You can complain at this website: www.britishparking.co.uk/AOS-Enquiries
