Feedback on Focus engine problem

I just wanted to make yourself and readers aware that there is a problem with the DV6C unit by PSA and Ford. We have a Focus TDCi 115 on the 2011 model and it used to stutter and hesitate at low revs and on the motorway, at speed, stutter for a second and then it would act fine.

Our car was fixed by having 2 PCM updates and a replacement clutch master cylinder which means the car is working fine now, with the exception of a squeaky clutch pedal. On examining many car forums this topic comes up many times on the Volvo forums in relation to the D2 unit and Ford in relation to the 1.6 TDCi 115 engine which lurches and stutters.

I just wanted your readers to know that there is a software patch, although the manufacturers have not written to owners stating there is one and a clutch master cylinder might need to be ordered as the clutch used to slip and the pedal used to stick down on occasions.

Many thanks. I ran this engine for a year and 11,000 miles in a Mazda 5 with no problems at all. But will add your problem to the Focus car by car entry.
