Broken LED running light on an Audi and no one can help. Any advice?

I own an Audi A5 2007 with front eyelash style daytime running LED units, seven or eight LEDs within each unit.

One single LED within the offside passenger unit of seven or eight has gone. Halfords don't stock the part and Audi said I have to replace the whole front headlight unit at £400 plus labour which seems crazy just for a single LED failure.

Any advice you can give would be gratefully received.

That is a problem that was widely predicted during the advent of LEDs set into headlight bezels.
