Parking fine - incorrect registration recorded

A friend of mine received a parking fine from NCP of £50 (£100 if not paid within 14 days). She went to pay it online and noticed that the registration was incorrect by one digit. If she ignores it will they catch up with her?

If she received the fine by post then they already have tabs on her. If it was stuck to the windscreen then they may not have.
