Why are used Porsche Cayman prices way over the guide price valuations?

I am looking for a Porsche Cayman around £17,000 for my wife. We really like the car and I think we could afford one for doing around 6,000 miles a year. I am happy with a slightly higher mileage car if the service history is good, but all the cars I look at are overpriced by around £2,000 compared to the price guide valuations - even if they are private sales. Is there a reason for this and what are my chances of getting one at the prices identified in the price guides?

Higher mileage is better because Porsche prices are extremely mileage sensitive. But my feedback shows that little-used watercooled Porsches are far more likely to show serious problems than cars that have been daily drivers. This will become your problem too, if you don't use the car enough.
