Is the SEAT Ibiza ST a good replacement for my 2008 Honda Civic?

I currently own a 2008 Honda Civic 2.2i CTDi with 25,000 miles on the clock. I love the drive, but find the rear window spoiler and lack of a wiper frustrating, especially when it is wet and frosty. A friend has recommended the Seat Ibiza ST 1.6TDi, which new I think retails at about £12,000. Is this a good buy or what else would you recommend that is similar in style and size, and what would be a reasonable part-exchange for the Civic?

The SEAT Ibiza ST (Sport Tourer) is well priced anyway and remarkable value on offer via www.drivethedeal.com. I drove one to Paris a few months ago. Decent, roomy car, with as much space inside as a Civic, but a class down from it. There is a swelling of discontent that the new VAG 1.6 diesel engine is not as economical as its certification figures suggest, but it should still be more economical than the Civic.
