Hyundai i20 or Mazda2?

We are wondering what car to buy and have narrowed it down to a Hyundai i20 Comfort or Mazda 2.

Both can be purchased for £8995.

I assume that they share the same tax band and are both cam chain engines, so running costs will be similar.

My better half likes interior, styling and name of Mazda 2; I like long warranty of Hyundai and the fact that it is slightly roomier in rear and boot. And, it has better safety features. We have two children, but rarely do we have four in the car.

The car will be driven by my wife. Which is better? Or is their another option?

The Mazda 2 is much more fun to drive. It sparkles. The i20 is more like a good washing machine. It does the job.
