Mazda 5 Diesel; 2007 Reg started using oil and poor fuel consumption

Just passed 51k miles and now using oil at a guess of about 1 litre/500 miles. Poor fuel consumption - and when in second gear (as in going around a corner, then faced with an incline) very slow to pick up speed.

Also - possible slight smell of oil in vehicle (cannot see any "spilt" oil from refilling!)

Probably a problem with the diesel particulate filter. Try powergo.co.uk/product-categories/dpf-diesel-partic.../
