Do foreign drivers have to pay traffic fines?
Recently I was caught by a speed camera in Switzerland whilst driving a German hire car. The Swiss police tracked me through the hire company and sent me a ticket demanding 100 euro fine. I learnt that refusing to pay on time caused the fine to escalate and if I didn't pay I would be refused future entry into Switzerland. In Britain do our authorities track down errant foreign drivers and fine them? If not why not as the Swiss found it quite simple?

They don't seem to bother. Strange that they should be so hard on us and so soft on visitors.
