Winter tyres - Which car?

I've decided to have winter tyres on one of our cars. We have a 55 plate Honda Jazz and an 06 plate Volkswagen Passat. I'm not sure which car would be best suited to be fitted with winter tyres, considering the weight of the car etc.

Hard to get winter tyres for Jazz on 16" wheels. May need to change to 15". But Jazz is lighter so will ride over snow better.
