Lightshow in the dashboard

I'm driving a 56-plate 2.0-litre TDi SEAT Leon with 33k miles on the clock.

I bought it in Feb 08 from a SEAT dealer and it was initially registered by SEAT UK and used for promotional events. I initially used the same dealer for servicing to keep the warranty intact (it still had manufactures warranty), but after it hit 3 years old I have been using a trusted independent garage to service it regularly.

I now have the dreaded ESP light constantly on and have taken to my local mechanic who has connected a VAG com unit to determine the fault. I can’t remember the code exactly, but I'm sure it was the G201 sensor in the ABS unit. The serial number of the ABS unit correlates to codes found on websites as one of the faulty units.

I’ve been searching numerous websites and forums (Seat, VW, Skoda etc and of course yours)and it’s obvious that this is a common fault from manufacture. I’ve contacted SEAT UK direct rather than mess about with dealers and they are denying all knowledge of the ESP fault being common.

Rather than bang my head against a brick wall for weeks on end can you give me any advice on the best way to get a favourable result, through a legal standpoint if necessary?

www.ecutesting.co.uk and www.sinspeed.co.uk can repair the pressure sensor for about £350 + VAT, but you need to add to that the cost of removing and replacing the module.
