Starting problems on a Nissan Micra

I have a Nissan Micra 2003 new-shape which has been OK for at least a year, but is now having starting problems.

It will not start at all. I called the AA out, but they cannot find anything wrong. On the computer it is trying to start, but seems to be as if the car is not getting any fuel.

I have checked all the fuses, but Nissan will not look at it because it was a Cat D. The service engineer told me that a lot of cars had to be recalled because of the same problems and it seems that they do not want to take any responsibility.

What should I look for?
