I've had a new clutch fitted to my car, but the garage is asking for regular checks to keep warranty valid
I've just had a new clutch and flywheel fitted to my Ford Mondeo. The garage has included a 24 month/18,000-mile warranty on the clutch and a 12 month/12,000-mile warranty on the flywheel.
To keep the warranty valid the garage says I have to take the car back to them to be checked (free of charge) regularly. Is there any valid reason for this or are they just hoping customers will forget and they will then invalidate the warranty?

Reads like an upsell opportunity for the garage. I imagine each time you return for an inspection the garage will find something else on your car that will need to be fixed, replaced or adjusted. Or perhaps the garage is genuinely concerned for you and your car's welfare - being a pessimist, I suspect the former will probably be true...
