Can I fit two winter tyres to the front or back of my car?

I drive a Volvo C30 and plan to put on two winter tyres. Should they go on the front or rear? Thanks for your advice.

Michelin themselves don't recommend fitting just two winter tyres to your car and neither do we. If you fit them to just one axle (regardless of whether it's front or back), you'll destabilise the car. Winter tyres are designed to grip the road differently from standard tyres so you'll give yourself issues with handling and braking by only fitting winter wheels to the front or back.
