Are vehicle repairs still allowed in Tier 5 lockdown?

Will bodywork shops remain open under Tier 5 rules? My car is due to go for repair but I don't want it to be taken away just to sit in a yard for weeks untouched.

Businesses that primarily provide repair services can stay open, as can MoT services. Garages can remain open in Wales and Scotland, too, although only for essential repairs and MoTs.

If your car is due for an MoT or service, you may be allowed to take it into a garage, but it isn't advised to go anywhere that isn't local for anything that isn't essential. Non-essential repairs are best left until the lockdown is eased or ends entirely. It's my understanding that tomorrow, the law will be updated to reflect these new rules. Once the measures are law, police will be enforcing them. My advice would be to ring the garage you're planning on taking it to and ask what they're doing in regards to the rules.

The DVLA call centre isn't open due to Covid 19. I posted my V5C application two weeks ago. The website now says no paper applications until further notice. Will my application be processed?
