Can you recommend a petrol, family car?

I have a budget of £11,000 for a petrol family car (6000 - 8000 miles per year). It needs enough room for four adults and I’ve been looking at a minimum of a 1.4 petrol engine. Having read many reviews, I’m nervous as to which engine and manufacturer to choose.

I'd recommend the Skoda Octavia 1.4 TSI petrol. It's a large and comfortable car, with lots of storage space. The Octavia was ranked as one of the UK's most-reliable cars in our latest Satisfaction Index: www.honestjohn.co.uk/honest-john-satisfaction-inde.../

Skoda has just replaced the Octavia with an all-new model, which means there are some good deals on the outgoing model. A budget of £11,000 should get you a two or three-year-old Octavia in a decent spec: www.honestjohn.co.uk/cars-for-sale/search/Skoda/Oc...c
