Can I drive without the wing mirror cover on my wing mirror?

The answer to this question is generally no. It's an offence to drive a car that will cause an injury if someone brushes past it. The missing mirror housing will likely leave an array of sharp plastics in the open that would most-likely hurt someone who comes into contact with it.
