Can my granddaughter drive my car to do my shopping if I'm self isolating?

My granddaughter is home from university due to the Coronavirus outbreak. I am 86 years old and am in self isolation What is the situation with insurance to cover her to go and do grocery shopping for me?

If she is not on your car insurance, then you would need to contact your insurer to put her on. Look at having your shopping home delivered through the supermarkets. Some people are also offering help doing shopping for those self isolating via social media.

Your granddaughter can also use temporary car insurance providers as well, where your granddaughter can insure your car by the hour if needed.
