Outlook changeable?

I live in a small town in Northern Ireland and have a 5-year-old Nissan Primera CVT 2-litre car with just 40,000 miles on the clock. My query is that my local independent dealer tells me that this model has chain driven cambelt that does not need replacing, but the handbook recommends replacing it at 5 years. Who is right?

All of this model of Primera, whether petrol or diesel, have chain cam engines. The handbook must contain a generalisation for cars with timing belts, or maybe it is referring to the auxiliary belts that turn the PAS pump, a/c, alternator, etc.
