My car was hit by another driver but his insurers are refusing to pay, saying the details he gave are incorrect and have voided his cover. Are they liable to pay for my damage?

They have a legal obligation under the 1988 road traffic act to compensate you. Advise you will sue them. Whether they cover their insured has no bearing on your claim.
