Has Volkswagen changed the oil used in DSG gearboxes?

Is that true that Volkswagen has changed the DSG oil to mineral to prevent problems with the DSG gearbox? How can you be sure that will be used in an oil change?

Yes. The original synthetic oil could become conductive when very hot and short out the mechatronics. It was changed over to mineral oil around 2012. This only applies to the low torque DQ200 7-speed dry clutch DSG and not any others. Though the box is not designed for the oil in it ever to be changed, some specialists recommend a change every four to five years.
