  9. Mobile phones including iPhones
  10. Apple Macbook Pros

During the festive period, the risk of burglary peaks on New Year’s Eve when homes are 24% more likely to be broken into than on an average day.

Conversely, the incidence of burglary on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day is one of the lowest during the year, according to the Aviva data.

Although the risk of burglary may be low on these dates, the research found the average value of our possessions increases by £1,700 thanks to all the festive treats

Hardly groundbreaking research is it? If i was a burglar i'd take into account the fact most people are at home on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but tend to go out places on New Years Eve and i'd burgle on the latter.

Don't even think about it Mr James-the 12 bore is in the corner of the kitchen, and we don't go out on old year's night!

2 yrs ago my eldest boy's home was done

Laptop 4 weeks old, Camera 6 mths old, Ipod, ........................

Window frame broken+ locks

£800 + Window frame + temp boarding up = £1500+ another laptop as the 1st replacment was stolen before my son got his hands on it.

They missed £200 in a drawer

Granddaughter has recurring problems of someone breaking into the house.

Ins Co upped £400 premium to £900............son objected as no claims in 15 yrs.......he asked a company, with a church, if they were an HP or Ins Co - settled on £500 then moved to Esure the following year
