Vauxall vectra cdti 1.9 diesel 2005 life - Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 cdti whining noise!! - sudy
My 05 diesel vectra has developed a whining noise. It increases under acceleration and decreases when you lift off. It only started after the car was not Pulling through fuel over 2000 revs in any gear, I floored it and it seemed to clear it but then the whining noise started. The first problem I think was dirty fuel injectors, have cleaned with redex but whining noise persists!!! Anyone have a clue of what it might be?

Start with examining all the driven belts for wear...

If it was a belt the noise would be progessive with the engine rpm. However the op implies it worsens when on the throttle and backs off when he is off the prottle pointing to a turbo or boost pipe problem. Regards Peter

Thanks both, will take a look at both options this evening turbo pipe is my (hopeful) answer but will cover all options

Check vacuum hoses connected to turbo for split they go hard. and inspect boost pipe for splits.

check idler pulley between crankshaft and a/c compressor common fault
