Hi, my son-in-law has recently purchased a 2004 (04) Focus TDCI estate, it is the 90bhp engined version in LX trim. Unfortunately a mere few days into ownership, the clutch has started to slip. As the car was bought as a PX to clear with no warranty given or implied It looks like forking out for a new clutch will be his only option. My question is, Is it a DMF fitted to this vehicle?. (If it is), Then im only too familiar with the Ford dealerships rubbing their hands in anticipation of the £1200/1300 + VAT Sir, they're fond of quoting. Which in effect mean's a cheap "bargain" vehicle becomes a very expensive one. Or im sure, i've read somewhere that some focus diesel's of that era had convenional clutches/flywheels fitted. Could any enlightened person please confirm what type of clutch will be needed. Also too please, Has anyone any experience of a solid flywheel/separate clutch conversion, and the cost involved. Many thanks in anticipation of your response's.
