Car won't start after running out of fuel

I ran out of diesel but when I refueled the car won't start. It turns over but won't catch.
Do I need to prime the pump, and if so how? It's a Mercedes-Benz C-Class W203.

Yes, you need to get the airlock out of the fuel system. There will be a bleed screw on the fuel filter.
