Toyota Corolla Verso 1.8T Spirit MMT

AVOID the MMT / SEMI AUTOMATIC GEARBOX!!

Bought this 2nd hand, it's our 1st proper family car (1st proper car in fact), turned into a nightmare.

In short - great car, but avoid at all costs the MMT / Semi-Auto gearbox. After brief search online (why oh why oh why didn't I look more carefully BEFORE buying?!), it seems like this model has a recurring fault of switching into neutral, needing anything from a electronic reboot to full replacement. No long term fix as far as I can see (check out Honest John's forum - under technical matters for more details).

So yes, seemed like a lovely car, nice and spacious, and I enjoyed driving it for all of 9 days... but having cost me £1,200 in repairs and left me with a car that I'm afraid to drive for fear of repeat failure, can't honestly say I'd recommend it!
