Overall reliability

Cheap, flimsy but reliable.

I was a Vauxhall Astra driver through and through but I wanted a lower enginge size and the 1.4 Astras are very slow, so I switched to the Kia Ceed. I did this because it is a good size for 4 people, cheap to run and has plenty of airbags. It feels a bit flimsy and there is a lot more road noise at high speeds. The steering is very sensitive. Fuel economy is good. Comfort is good. Visibility when reversing is bad. The handbrake is in a funny position (closer to drivers seat than in the middle, which is what I was used to). Generallly though, I'm saving money on fuel with this car, it is reliable and perfectly adequate for my mostly short trips. If I did a lot of motorway driving I'd probably have to have something quieter with more poke.
