Paris Motor Show 2014: Kia unveils all-new Sorento

Published 02 October 2014

Kia has unveiled the third-generation Sorento at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The new Sorento is expected to reach the UK in March 2015 and will only be available in seven seat configuration.

The third-generation SUV gets a more upright appearance, with improved interior space and a more efficient 2.2-litre diesel engine.

The design of the third-generation Sorento is much more aggressive than ever before, with a long prominent bonnet and ‘tiger-nose’ grille. The front also gets sweptback headlights, underbody slid guard and muscular wheel arches.

The new model will be more spacious, in all three seat rows, with a 95mm increase in length. However, keen to emphasise on its sleek new design language, Kia has reduced the car’s ride height by 15mm, which means the new model sits at 1685 mm.

New technology including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and blind spot warning will be offered, while passive safety is improved thanks to a stiffer body shell.
