Geneva Motor Show 2016: Ford reveals Fiesta ST200

Published 02 March 2016

Ford has launched the most powerful production Fiesta ever. The Fiesta ST200 gets more power, quicker 0-62mph acceleration and a new paint scheme. It will cost £20,000 when it arrives in UK showrooms in the summer.

The Fiesta ST200 will cover 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds - 0.2 seconds quicker than before - while top speed has been increased by 4mph to 143mph. The Fiesta ST’s 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine has been tweaked to deliver an additional 15PS and 30Nm of torque over the standard 182PS ST, while the final drive ratio has been shortened to improve power delivery.

Technically speaking, the ST200 should be billed the 197PS, but Ford has decided to round up the numbers to give its critically acclaimed hot hatch a catchier title. Ford hasn't released any economy figures, but the ST200 shouldn't deviate too far from the standard ST's 138g/km of CO2 and 47.9mpg.

As well as more power, the potent little Ford also gets an exclusive Storm Grey paint scheme, 17-inch alloy wheels and red painted brake callipers. Inside the Fiesta gets partial leather Charcoal Recaro front seats, ST200 illuminated scuff plates and branded seatbelts with silver detailing.
