Geneva Motor Show 2015: 660PS Ferrari 488 GTB confirmed

Published 03 March 2015

Ferrari has premiered its new mid-engine, 660PS 488 GTB at the Geneva Motor Show. The replacement for the 458 Italia gets a new 3.9-litre V8 twin-turbo V8 engine with a colossal 760Nm of torque. Expect to pay around £200,000.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Performance is suitably impressive for a Ferrari, with 0-62mph taken care of in 3.0-seconds and a top speed of more than 200mph.

Ferrari says the 488 GTB produces 50 per cent down force than the 458 and claims it is the most aerodynamic Ferrari ever made.

The interior has a similar layout to that of the outgoing 458 Italia, but with improvements including a revised and updated infotainment screen with higher resolution graphics.

Pricing details and an on-sale date are to be announced, but don’t expect much change from £200,000 – and that’s before you start picking optional extras.
