Special edition Laguna Coupe 'stunning'

Tue, 01 Dec 2009
In news that may be of interest to those thinking of buying a new car, Renault has launched a special edition Laguna Coupe, which it claimed is more economical than the previous version.

The Coupe TomTom is £2,100 cheaper than its similarly equipped predecessor.

Like the old entry-level version, the Coupe TomTom has features such as Akramys 3D Sound 140W audio system with mp3 CD reader and Bluetooth.

It also has dual zone climate control, eight airbags and 18-inch Interlagos alloy wheels.

The manufacturer boasted it is much cheaper than what it called its immediate rivals - the BMW 320d SE and the Peugeot 407 Sport HDi 163.

It pointed out it was £8,535 less than the former.

Renault noted the new car was based on the dCi 150 but with the addition of the Carminate TomTom system, automatic parking brake and a new interior that incorporates satin and chrome.

Another vehicle recently introduced by the manufacturer is the Twingo Gordini RenaultSport, which it said had an "assertive character" and "unmistakeably French feel".
