Tue, 22 Dec 2009
Audi has told those who are looking to buy a new car that its latest A8 has coupled with Google to offer the most connected vehicle yet.

Google Earth will be available for the first time in a production vehicle, as will a host of other online services and features.

This vehicle disposes of a multimedia interface navigation system, used via touchpad.

Included in this is an integrated hard disk for navigation, phone and audio data.

The manufacturer claims this information is relayed via high-quality, three-dimensional images off Google Earth on an eight-inch LCD display.

Motorists may find this useful when searching for a nearby shop or when trying to figure out the best way to arrive at a location.

Audi said all computerised functions will be faster than on previous models thanks to its new UMTS modem.

This model recently made its debut at the Design Miami exhibition in Florida.

According to the carmaker, this model is "bristling with new technology" is to be the new flagship of the Audi saloon range and costs about £54,760.
