Volkswagen's seven-seat Caddy Maxi Life will be available on a Personal Contract Plan.

This payment strategy starts with £199 per month for 36 months with 6.9 per cent APR, plus deposit and optional final payment.

Families could also stand to benefit from this option, as the new California campervan - set to arrive in the UK this spring - will be available on a similar plan from £399 a month with 4.9 per cent APR.

Director Simon Elliot explained that with its two double beds, a kitchen and a fridge, this vehicle could be ideal for the group that likes to be able to get away at a moment's notice.

"These affordable offers will appeal to any families planning their touring holidays or another staycation in 2010 as they won't find more brilliant, spacious and affordable family transport than the Caddy Maxi Life," he explained.

Recent figures from a VisitEngland study suggested domestic tourism trips were on the up year-on-year, with visits in august registering a 15 per cent increase on the same period in 2008.
