Fiat to release a cabriolet 500

Mon, 16 Feb 2009
Car buyers who are convinced the cold start to 2009 means Britain will enjoy a warm summer may want to consider purchasing a cabriolet.

Fiat has announced it is unveiling a soft-top version of its 500 city car at next month's Geneva motor show.

It stated: "A new cabriolet has been created which provides excitement and sustained driving pleasure, combining captivating lines with the performance of flexible, environment-friendly, low consumption engines."

The company said the car will be available in a number of body colours, including Pearl Red and Warm Grey.

It added the soft-top will come in ivory, red or black.

Fiat also claimed the vehicle will offer one of the most impressive equipment specifications in its class.

The model is due to be launched across Europe in spring.

In related motoring news, a Start&Stop option on the Fiat 500 line-up was introduced earlier this month.

The company claimed the technology would help owners save money at the pump.
