Using a price comparison site

When you opt to use a price comparison website, you only need to enter the details once. The website then contacts their insurance partner sites and completes their online forms on your behalf.

Any companies that return a quote are displayed in price order, from lowest to highest but you then need to contact the insurers directly (via a link to where your quote has been stored) to sort the finer details of the policy (such as legal cover, voluntary excess etc). The comparison process is very quick - a few minutes in most cases - and there is no pressure from any particular company to buy their policy.
