This is usually the cheapest way to borrow but, if you borrow using the equity in your house as security, you don't get the same level of protection that you get through buying on the dealer's finance.
Shop around for the best rate of interest and be sure to find out if there's a penalty should you be able to repay the loan earlier than originally intended.
