2001 nissan micra 1.0 l - oil in airfilter - usman187

Hi can some kindly give me some information i noticed that my car wasnt running rite so thought it would need a service so i got the bitz and a mobile mechanic came to do it and he noticed the airfilter was cover with oil . He had checked it out but doesnt know what it would be. Any ideas thanks

Its fairly normal to get some oil in the air intake circuit as the engine breather system vents into it, an excessive ammount would indicate a worn engine or breather fault.

Thanks peter i know what your saying but the mechanic tool of the throttle body and the inlet manifold was absolutly drench with oil

If it is the breather what can we do to rectify it

I dont think the mechanic knows what he is doing
