renault clio 2002 1.2 petrol - power loss - tunshilldog

just bought a renault clio for my son for his first car after one week the car has obtaind a power problem, on pulling away in first gear it will intermitantly loss all power and then pick again this will happen mostly pulling away at junctions, any body any ideas.

Have a look at the throttle body and butterfly and see if they are dirty. Clean if they are (do not swamp with carb cleaner though, use rag and an old toothbrush)
