Jaguar XF - Cambelt or chain

Jaguar XF - Cambelt or chain - alan8712
I have been told by a dealer (not a jaguar dealer) that the xf has a cam chain rather than a belt. I recently had my s type belt changed so that when I sell it that's been done.
But can you confirm for me about the xf as I don't want to buy one then a few days after have to have the belt done

All S type petrol engines (V6 and V8) had a chain and not a belt. The 2.7 diesel had a belt.

Hope yours was a diesel, if not you were robbed.

Yes mine is diesel. So I take it that the 2.7 diesel xf is a belt. Do you know about the 3.0 diesel is that a belt as well.
