I used to be a dab hand of removing Alfa gearboxes and replacing the syncro cones a terrible weak spot at the time I could do a gearbox in a afternoon. But these had a box that was very easy to remove unlike a Sedona, I suspect its front wheel drive not the easiest of jobs so I would want it to right first time I would be tempted to fit a recondioned box that is if I was keeping the vehicle plus all new clutch parts while I was at it to be on the safe side.
But what makes you think that the syncro has gone more than likely to a faulty or worn clutch.
