I remember looking at a car paint chart a few years ago and virtually every colour was a variety of grey. From very pale silver through mid tones and on to dark grey with tints of gold added in along the way. I think there was one dark metallic blue on there to give a bit of relief.
At least a few years on we now have black (which fleet managers of the time wouldn't buy because it was rumoured to have a 'soft' finish) and white (which should be reserved for emergency vehicles only and banned from LCVs) and Toyota keep plugging away with their Chili Red. There's some good variations on burgundy/wine colours, but the violent eye shredders just ruin the landscape.
What did I hear on a reissue of Top Gear at the weekend on Dave? Oh yes that little boy with the ginger hair from Harry Potter proclaiming he'd got an orange Range Rover. Well I s'pose that's what a 12 year old might buy.
