Skoda Octavia - 2003 Octavia, cant open bonnet as cable snapped - 74andyr

Hi,

The bonnet release cable on my 2003 octavia has snapped. Anyone have any ideas how i might get it open? Have already tried breaking grille to access torx bolts on release catch. I can see them but the lip on the front of the bonnet prevents me from the having the room to get a tool into the bolts to undo them. Would appreciate any advice as im a bit stumped on this one.

If you've broken the grille and can now access the catch (but not get at the bolts), you should be able to find the end of the snapped cable.

Pull it with a pair of pliers.

Not sure why, GB - the only ones I've deleted are the ones from the idiot trying to advertise. Colleague Boris may have deleted posts referring to this.

I replied earlier to this question Avant thats why i mentioned, unless the question was asked twice?

As for the advertising idiot, i'd be tempted to plaster his email address for the worlds bots to see, don't know how you put up with them.
