VW Polo (2012) - Driving Lights.

VW Polo (2012) - Driving Lights. - maltrap

Just bought a new Polo. It came with "driving lights" which i was told is now the law.

The thing is the lights which come on are the headlights, not the sidelights. Is this correct ?

They are what are termed as "day time running lights" the worst invention since rear fog lights and auto head lights. All down to the euro pink and fluffies so the sooner we get out the better.

Many of the VW models use the main beam headlight bulb as the DRLs,but at a reduced voltage to give a dimmer light.hth

We had these things 25 years ago, called dimdip back then, and Volvo stuck 21W bulbs in their excellently sited side lights on the 2 series.

Some of these new DRL's are a bit too camp for me, as are some of the pretty but completely useless LED rear light fixtures.
