volvo s40 - Tensioner snapped - JT&NT
My Volvo S40 (2002) won't start the garage I take it to have said the tensioner has snapped causing damage to the engine and would be £1000's to repair. Just over a month a go the same garage replaced the VVT pulley. I've only done a few hundred miles since, I was wondering whether replacing the VVT pulley incorrectly could have caused the tensioner to snap and if so what evidence, come back do I have. The cam belt and tensioners were replaced done 6 months ago along with water pump and I have done 3000 miles since (this was done by another garage. Is my car worth repairing, can i prove anyone is at fault and if i have to scrap it what's it worth. Thanks
