Audi A4 2.0 TDI (170 ) 2007 - How do I fit a vacuum actuator - mm707
Hi all,

Anyone have any idea what kind of job it is to fit a new vacuum actuator/unit on the inlet manifold ?

Apparently there's a diaphram in this that splits and a new part is only about £10 ish .

It is attached to the front side of the inlet manifold ( so I am informed )

It looks like a possible cure for intermittant underboost and stuttering.

Many thanks

Have you tried lifting the bonnet and taking a look. From memory it is two Torx bolts. What is you engine code. It os on the ID label either in the service book or in the spare wheeel bay. Regards Peter

If you are referring to the Vacuum unit for intake manifold flap then it is two torx screws.

Does anyone know the part code or where to get one of the diaphragm / flaps?!

VW want £500 to replace the whole unit!

part number is S03G129061C for the vacuum actuator. It really is quite an easy, but dirty, job. If I can do it anyone can :)

£10 for the part, £20 if you replace all the gasgets. Got all mine from TPS

Cheers mate, mine is a golf 170, engine code BMN, I'm guessing the part should be the same!

Anyone know if its not?

The part number for the vacuum unit on a BMN engine is 03G 129 061 C, about £12 from any VAG dealer.
