Marginal I would think, as an Octavia estate weighs about 1500kg, a hatch a bit less, and you shouldn't tow a caravan that weighs more than 85 % of the car's weight.

A Mondeo probaby weighs a bit more and might be a safer bet - or a Skoda Superb.

Should be no problem for a experienced tower, the 85% recommendation is for begineers.

Just make sure you get the correct model.

When you're looking at Octavias, think of them as a Focus or Astra, not a Mondeo or Vectra.

So, would you drag your tin shed on wheels around with an Astra or Focus?

Why not, the golf has won the best in group for towing

I towed a 1333kg caravan with a year 2000 Audi with a kerb of 1550kg for 4 years, tow limit was 1500kg.
