Recently developed a flat spot of a second or three on acceleration from standing start and on putting your foot down generally. Once picked up runs fine and smooth. Gears and kickdown seem to work fine. Replaced plugs, air and fuel filter but made no difference

The car did not used to do this and it started recently - can anyone point me in the right direction as what to look at next.
