Water tends to get past the window trim. Having said that any water should be able to exit through drain holes at the bottom of the door, it sounds like the drain holes need unblocking, access to the drain holes is via the underside of the door with the door open.

It will get in, your problem is its not getting out. If you look along the bottom edge of the door there should be drain holes, usually slot shaped, I suspect yours are blocked.
