Peugeot 306 - Replacement Cambelt

Peugeot 306 - Replacement Cambelt - St George

My local garage advised that I need to get my cambelt replaced as I have nearly done 80,000 miles. However, I had a cambelt kit fitted 2 years ago during a major service and have only done about 10,000 miles since. Does it really need replacing? I know first hand the cost of not replacing it but I was quoted £260 and am not sure if the garage is just saying this because of the overall mileage on the car.

If its an XUD diesel the replacement interval is 78,000 miles I believe so if its only done 10k it certainly shouldn't replacing. It would help if we knew the engine type.
