Ford Mondeo - 57 plate mondeo TDI help please - poodle

Hi Guys

Im new to this forum and hope you can suggest... I bought a 57 new shape mondeo, 1.8, diesel, ghia last week, beautiful car at 136k miles. Drove it for 3 days and then.....

On a cold start it would turn over, start and die, after doing this for 20 minutes something would quietly click and off we went. if it was stood all day, the same would happen at teatime. On a warm star, no probs at all.

Its gone back to the garage/dealer who have had to Ford, who have tinkered with the computer (this normally sorts this issue apparently) but its still there. T he mechanic has now suggested taking the hose off the turbo and seeing if it continues doing it.

I dont do heeps of miles, but need a big car. Its an ex fleet car and has been very well maintained, would any of you clever lot, have any advice?

thanks!

My first check would have been the battery voltage. did the garage check that?

Thanks for your quick reply. I just know they took it directly to the Ford garage for a computer update as its supposed to cure this problem, not in this case, but ill ask em that one. many thanks!

Take it to a diesel specialist rather than a garage, they usually know what they are doing and are cheaper.
